term 1 week 6
As usual the class was noisy when there were no teacher in the class. When i was talking to my friends, Mr Chua came. The class was really quiet and started taking out their literature files. We greeted Mr Chua and was told to sit down.
It was week 6. We learnt a passage about Merchant Of Venice. There were two passage that were given to us. One of it is to be done in class and the rest were given as homework. The first passage was given to us to complete it in 10 minutes. There were three question. It was something like a `test’. After completing it, we were told to pass it to our row leaders. The three question was about Shylock and Antonio’s deal. Antonio borrowed money from Shylock and he did not repay. Therefore, one pound of Antonio’s flesh is to be cut off from his body.
Before giving out the 2nd passage, Mr Chua go through with us the 3 question. He was really angry with the ones he picked to answer. All of those who were chosen to answer did not speak loudly.
The 2nd passage was about the different side of Antonio. After receiving the passage, I read it quickly as I was really keen to know what was the different side of Antonio. He is actually a bully. He called Shylock names. For example, a misbeliever and a cut-throat dog. He even spit on Shylock's clothes.
The lesson was taught well. I learnt to be braver. For example, if I do not know about something or what a certain question is about, I will ask the teacher in charge. I think the lesson is good as it practices us to follow instructions, train our discipline and to talk loudly when answering to anybody.
